Community Bowl #2
During Birkastans Day yesterday MADE BY: had over 300 visitors, 129 of whom helped make our Community Bowl #2. In this project we create communities around a physical object that everyone is free to take part in making. The finished bowl will be on display in our showroom window from 9th September.

Åsa Returns To Minsk

Åsa and Kerstin do the Midnight Run
Åsa and Kerstin joined 18000 other highly trained athletes to run Stockholm's 26th "Midnattsloppet" which involves running around the city in the dark for 10km. Congratulations and well done.

MADE BY: friends is a small scale artist in residence programme in our studio where invited guests are given space to develop new work which is then shown at the end of their stay. Five Centuries of Swedish Silver
Scandinavia House in New York presents a unique collection of Swedish silver from Röhsska Museum. Amongst the pieces on show is David's spectacular fruit dish. The exhibition runs from February 14-May 8. Starting in San Francisco, the show will continue to the National Museum of Canada and The Shanghai Museum in China.

Love Signs at Platina
Our first group work "MADE BY: Project No.1 - Give A Little Love" was shown last night at Platina. In accordance with tradition the vernissage was held on St. Valentines Day and the theme is of course love. 148 works from 138 artists are on show, each with their own "love" angle. Table lamp "Glasgow" was Awarded the ELLE Interior Design Award this week. The presentation ceremony was held at the Nordic Light Hotel where the party continued long into the night. "Glasgow " is produced and distributed by Bsweden.

Maze International Presents "Eclipse"
Maze International will present the latest addition to their product line at this weeks Stockholm Furniture Fair. David designed the table lamp "Eclipse" for the Swedish interior design company, which is now the second product to reach the market from this collaboration. Eclipse will be available in April.

Visting Colleagues
An assembly of professors and student jewellery artists in Stockholm to take part in the Symposium "Flags" at Konstfack paid a visit to MADEBY: this week. Despite the winter weather and freezing conditions in the workshop it was great to meet over a glass or two with colleagues from all over Europe.

Earthquake Proof Candlestick Now Available
Probably the world's first earthquake proof candlestick is now being produced and distributed by Maze International. Designed by David and made from brushed aluminium and rubber, this candlestick stays firmly in its place when everything else is on the move.
